The worst company ever, if you get into a contract with them, be aware, you are giving up your soul, and it’s extremely complicated to cancel. I don’t use the service anymore, however… as soon as the contract finished… IT AUTO RENEW and bond me again with another year under contract,…. it is a joke! be aware!

RingCentral is a complete scam. They promise you the world, but fall through on almost all their promises. The worst part would be there customer service. BEING onthe phone for hours with no solutions to your problems, after more than three months of complications and trying to set up our system, I decided to cancel The most unprofessional service. I would 100%NEVER recommend RingCentral.

I cannot objectively rate the equipment because the phones have been sitting on our desks for 4 weeks, unused, gathering dust after I paid a for year’s service in advance. I get repeated automated e mails (6/23. 6/25. 6/25, 6/26, and 6/29) from RC saying my current carrier has a freeze on porting. I have contacted my current carrier 3 times and have been told there is no freeze because there has been no request for porting from RC. Yesterday the porting supervisor from my current carrier reached out to RC and others in a group e mail telling all that if they would submit the request it would be processed. To date all I have heard from RC is someone calling about a dissatisfaction survey I received and returned. I am ready to box the equipment up and return it. It is time someone does their freaking job!

I have a small law office with myself and 2 part-time assistants who often work offsite online and answering phones. I used Ring Central successfully and without any issues for approximately 2 years. About 2 months ago our lines stopped ringing. By that I mean, the phone lines would not ring and callers would go straight to voicemail. Tech support said we had to set up my assistant’s line on a operate extension. This is despite the fact that we had no issues for 2 years preceding this. We changed the setup. The problem would re-appear every other day or so. They keep telling us that we need to set up separate extensions, but they had already done that and the problem continued. Between my office staff and myself we have lost maybe 10-12 hours on the phone or online chat with Tech support, not to mention an unknown amount of lost business and potential clients. Ring Central is unable to explain why the system worked without any issues for years. Then when we change the setup to what they suggest, the problem actually becomes much worse. I cannot tell you how many times we heard the phrase “I have no explanation.” they clearly do not understand their product and as a result, they cannot fix the problem. If receiving calls from potential clients or customers is important to your business, stay far away. If you think that they best way to handle client calls is to send them all straight to voicemail, then this is the company for you. Again I will stress…stay far away.

I have had a horrible experience with RingCentral and when I try to enter, they make it extremely vague and difficult. The staff are used to complaints and seem not to care at all about making cancellations and essentially keep you trapped in their service. I just want to be free from this horrible company.

I work as a remote support rep for a big retailer. Very poor customer service. The first person you talk as your rep will not be your rep. They out source to the other side of the earth and they are of no help. As they are trained to not answer you questions.
    They mislead you.
I am now on the 3 month trying to PORT my numbers from them. It a headache as they change my addresses and leave out part of the number, so the porting can’t be completed. Then I have to investigate the issue and get mislead and no real help.
Now I have had to file a complaint with the FCC, as Ring Central will not help.
DO NOT USE THIS VOIP carrier.

This company takes the cake for the worst customer experience I have had in my entire life. The sales person we spoke to completely mislead us and fraudulently represented their company/services. They are impossible to get ahold of and you end up in a perpetual call loop that ends in the line getting disconnected. Customer service strategies include yelling at you over the phone, hanging up on you, refusing to transfer you, refusing to give you their name/extensions and placing you on hold indefinitely. -10/10 would not recommend to anyone.

I had been a customer of RingCentral for 8 years. I had always paid for the year in full, in advance. This year upon renewal and no notice, they charged the same annual rate and then added a monthly fee per line used at $45/line. Also had to pay for out-going minutes ON TOP of the annual fee and monthly line fee. GTFO. Went with Verizon for truthful billing and unlimited usage for said monthly billing. This company is over. Get out while you can and avoid new business at all cost. Also, no pro-ration refund for my year in advance. So I am writing an honest review to get my money back.

Was with Ring Central since they first started. Then the support went overseas.. it was spotty at best and very frustrating. I was able to just keep using it without getting any support until one day I was notified the price was going to DOUBLE. I tried and tried to reach someone to negotiate a pricing change that made sense for my small business and spent months either waiting for a return call or getting person after person who made me start over explaining only to say someone would get back to me. I finally found Unitelvoice … less expensive and personalized US based support. Such a relief. THEN Ring Central calls and tries to get me back. I couldn’t be happier at Unitelvoice. and I will never put myself in a position vulnerable position by counting on Ring Central ever again. I would NOT recommend under any circumstances. Don’t be lulled in by a sales pitch.

They eliminated my $156/yr Fax plan and moved me to a 56% more expensive ($243/yr) plan that I did not authorize. Did not provide cost increase 30 days in advance, but charged my full of $245. No customer support service to resolve the issue. No customer call backs after a week. Would not recommend. Stay away.

What an absolutely terrible company to deal with. Everyone was overseas, 2 year minimum contract (so if you figure out they are wretched you are stuck for two years). It is almost impossible to cancel.

As a small business owner the only positive thing I could say is that they do have a good auto attendant that works well when forwarding. outside of that one service everything was terrible. My credit card info for auto payment mysteriously disappeared three times or they had issues processing it which caused late fees… which were not refunded. I called my credit card company and they said the charges were never even submitted. at the end they were asking about someone porting numbers onto my account I said no one but me had access and they said ohh never mind. I cant wait to see what this leads to..

STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN!

I have an account with approximately 50 extensions I’m going back and forth with my account rep for over a 2-3 months now and waiting for him to allow me to transfer from one extension to more then 10 third party numbers, I was told that it could be done and it should be a very simple thing to change on my premium account I especially made sure to make my request early enough before my high season started so I can be ahead of the game and instead I keep on getting bounced around and nothing is being done while my company is loosing out big time money! my high season is here now for over 2 weeks and nothing is happening! For all of you out there reading this review If you have a need for any tiny custom thing for your system I would say you should try to go with another provider… Its extremely disappointing especially after all the work you put in to move over from a different provider thinking you hit the top company and you pay top dollar!!!

I would avoid RingCentral at all costs if your business depends on reliable telephone service. They provide amazing support during the evaluation period. But once the contract starts, the support goes to nearly nill. Their software team repeatedly releases bug infested software, and frequently features and functions that use to work, e.g. interfacing with Google calendar, no longer works. They don’t claim to provide support faster than 48 hours turnaround, but when they do contact within the 48 hours, the runaround begins. Completely plan to move away from RingCentral the moment my contract expires. BEWARE!!

I use RingCentral video and unfortunately have a consistently poor experience – ongoing audio issues, there’s often confusion around the invites and connection URLs, the admin side is horribly confusing (I think they have three different administrative interfaces??) and the other week I was locked out of my account for hours because of a glitch in their platform that didn’t allow me to login nor reset my password. I had to call support to have them work on it from their side…and I will say their support is the only halfway decent experience I’ve had – kudos to getting something right. I don’t know anything about their phone or other solutions, but until RC gets their platform in better shape I would recommend against using their videoconferencing.

EVERY agent is at home and is not tech 2 support so don’t think you will get urgent help if your phones are down like mine! My phones are down for so long and so many disconnected calls on my customers and no voicemails coming in and so many problems I can’t list them. You would think that since its a phone system running peoples business that they would have QUALITY support WRONG!!!! They act like they have all these features but they do not work reliably every-time they have a new GLIP APP or a NEW update literally everything breaks!!! This has happened so many times and I am EXHAUSTED!!! The problems I have are SIGNIFICANT are costing me my CLIENTS!!!! THIS COMPANY NEVER FIXES THINGS!!!!!! They continually BREAK THINGS more! But nobody will call me to fix our phones!

Since getting this service we have struggled. Constantly “working” on problems and dropped calls. Our incoming cue still does not work right – a year into service. Customer support is HORIBLE! For one problem it took me over a month to get an answer and fix. I had to keep complaining and asking for management. When you call customer service they will not give you a direct answer but will talk forever about anything else. And make sure you read the fine print on the contract! They get you locked into 36 months and if you add a line and then don’t need it you have to keep it for the whole contract too.

In 2018 there was a huge hike on rates from $135/year to $243.94/year (almost double). When asked about hike was told that there are added features that we could not make sense of or see them helping us in any way.
Come 2019 there is another hike $420.22 when I complained I was told they will make some changes/adjustments that were never made.
NOTE : we never authorized that payment to be put through as we never agreed to those charges.
I called multiple times and emailed as well everytime long holds and then that someone will call me back or contact me soon.
We had it enough last month and chose to change the provider.
Not only we disagreed to the new charges but we never had use to new package features.
We only use it for fax and we communicated so many times.
So in plain and simple language I am hugely disappointed and offended by the way ringcentral has dealt with us in last 4 years

There support leaves a lot to be desired. Everyone you talk to is very nice and follows the script on apologizing and customer handling, but the actual support that can fix a problem is poor. My ticket was supposed to be a top tier problem to resolve, but was told it would still take 24 hours for any response. I get that these customer call centers are abroad for the financial benefits, but to have roosters crowing and chickens clucking in the background of frustrating calls is just the cheery on top of this VOIP provider.

I’ve had issues with them in the past and the handling is consistent. I’ve considered switching to another provider, but to be honest, I seen similar complaints from other users on other platforms. As far as my account representative, never get a response when I try to reach that person. Just dissatisfied all the way around with them.

I got in to a contract with three users when under impression of being able to add or remove my current and future employees as users. When you talk to them, their sales people try to just SALE.
I was pretty clear that it is important to me be flexible but I was okay to keep my lines active for at least two years so I signed up a contract.

I called back after two months, when an employee left my office and tried to cancel a user, that’s when I learned that is not an option. So not the lines under the contract, it is the users. Too little too late!

Now I am stock with these guys for the next 2 years! It will not kill me but as soon as my two years are over I am moving back to Grasshopper or something similar. All the nice features you get excited for, you can get from google GSuite, which is more reliable, easier to use and transparent.

We’ve been with these guys for 4 years. Phone, Audio conferencing, Video Conferencing. We’ve always had minor problems, many I could explain away as user issues. There were problems, but never enough to make me change providers. Increasingly over the last few years, they’ve went from marginally reliable to mostly unreliable. Video Conferences clicked via email won’t start with an Invalid ID error for the host, destroy and remake the meeting? Works fine. Audio conferences were fine until recently, now people can’t connect seemingly at random but have no problem using other services. Support is very friendly but they really don’t have any ability to assist you with anything that’s not a client configuration problem. If you’re experiencing a system bug or connection issue on their end, there’s no support, no logs to look through. Uninstall and reinstall your client and hope it all goes away, thanks for calling. The feature set is great, the VoIP features are awesome, it’s just sub-par reliability and support for a premium price.

My company has been with RingCentral since 2013. Last year our business building blew up in a gas explosion (for real) and when I called to ask about cancelling lines, I was told I couldn’t because our contact had auto-renewed for another 24 months. Stuck paying $300 per month with no phones to use. Fast forward to getting a new space, we’ve had nothing but issues with our wireless phone (have had to send it back for a replacement which is having the same issues), and RC ADDED charges to my account when no changes were made. Our business has been forced to close due to COVID19, and I can’t even get my “customer experience manager” to return an email. She just keeps sending me to their customer service line, where I’m stuck on hold and no one can assist me. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY.

Customer support is one of the most important aspects of every business. I liked the product and used it. They increased the price by almost twice and charged around $100 for a $300 monthly bill. I went through hell with more than 20 calls and endless emails to get the monthly bill correct but at the end, even after getting the confirmation email from my project manager, they charged the card for twice the amount they supposed to. If anybody high level in RingCentral is reading this, please select better project managers and customer service team.

I was told that I can change my plan, but when I called to do this over the last two days, on the phone for hours repeatedly put on hold to talk to the right person, I was told that I should have read the fine print and no I cannot reduce the number of lines. When I pushed that this is not what I was told, I was told by Shawn, the complaints / customer service person, that I should have read the contract better. This is also in the middle of Covid-19. As a doctor, I know that patients sign consent forms but when things go wrong, that doesn’t mean they can’t sue. It is what is communicated, not what is in the fine print, that matters. Ring Central could not give me an email that I could write to or a manager that I could speak with. A manager may call me back in 24 to 72 hours. I haven’t heard back from the manager from yesterday yet.
The tech support is also horrible three times out of four. You are on the phone for hours. Different people say different things. I still can’t get the app to work reliably with dropped calls.
    It is a HORRIBLE SERVICE.
Finally I was told that I can reduce the number of lines, by paying the full price of the contract. Doesn’t that say it all as to the ethics of this company. As soon as my contract is up, I am finding a different provider. I recommend you do the same.

We have been with Ring Central since 2014 and we do not have a problem with their products. However, their customer service is by far the WORST of any industry. We didn’t realize this until recently because we’ve never had to call. Every time we need help with our account they tell us we need to speak with our account manager (the account manager changes every time we call and they’re never available by the way). Once we do speak with our “account manager” we know we’re going to spend at least 30-45 minutes on the phone because they’re so inefficient. Also, they always put us on hold without even asking and it’s very frustrating. The funny thing is that this type of service does not occur when we call to add another line. When that happens ANYBODY can help you and the wait times are less than 5 minutes. On the other hand, when we call to remove a line because an employee is no longer with us it becomes a nightmare. It takes forever to do so and they never want to give us our prorated refund back (we pay in full every year so we’re entitled to receive a refund). They say they’ll give us a credit instead which will apply at our next renewal. That’s not the norm so don’t let them fool you. We have to fight and spend a lot of time on the phone until they eventually gives us the refund we deserve. To sum up, DO NOT waste your time and money with Ring Central (you’ll thank us later). We already started looking at other options and will cancel our policy in the next couple of days.

We’ve been with Ringcentral for about 8 years. It’s been a reliable service and they are always updating features. However . . . .

A few months ago they raised the price of our service 4x’s. We’ve made very little changes to our account over the years and don’t use all the added features. We’ve tried to work the pricing out with them as we feel our account should be grandfathered in. At minimum, quadrupling our monthly from one month to the next, is unacceptable. They refused to work with us on pricing so we’re moving to a different company.

I agree that their support is pretty bad but to their credit, we’ve had very little issues with the system itself. It’s also nearly impossible to speak to a supervisor, the reps will put you on hold for 20-30 minutes and then come back and say a supervisor is not available and expect a call from the supervisor. The supervisor never calls, instead they email you and nothing ever gets resolved quickly. It’s a HUGE struggle!!!

We’ve been trying to port out our numbers for about a month now and they keep rejecting our requests even though we’ve had confirmation several times that our LOA port request form was completed correctly. I’m going to be reporting them to the FCC & FTC in the next 48 hours if they don’t get it together and fix the issue of our porting request.

SAVE YOURSELF SOME FRUSTRATION AND DON’T CHOOSE RING CENTRAL!

Switched from Nextiva over to RingCentral and now we are having buyers remorse! We have multiple sales reps on the road and reply on the RC mobile apps. They have multiple apps and none of them have worked from the beginning. They say that they have their engineers working on them and it’s always the same story of making it a priority to fix the issue. Well, months later and their “priority” is still in limbo. You would think that they would offer us some kind of compensation but they don’t even care. Bottom line, they look and sound great up front but once you are locked in, they really don’t care about the customer! Since it is a public company, I guess they only care about the shareholders and not their actual customers!

tried to cancel and they lied about the term of the agreement. Mine ended in 2015, but they told me it was 2023 and wanted tens of thousands of dollars for a service I wasn’t consuming.

For incoming and outgoing calls it worked well. The up-tieiring on price was too aggressive. If you want to use a queue, it costs much more. Seems like the gui got worse over the years.

If we could rate zero stars, we would. Below is an email sent to a customer service rep who was following up with us about the services. At the bottom is the reply they gave us. We are so fed up with this company and ready to switch! ! The list goes one so much further than this list.

Just wanted to put out there a true example of their inability to provide decent and HONEST service.

    1) We have been trying to order a desk phone so that when we are in the office we do not have to use the app on our cell phones (this looks very unprofessional to the patients)

One would think this would be a simple process, ALAS it was not! I had to reach out via email several times before I was finally routed to another account manager who said that we needed to log into our account to order the phone. I asked for step by step instructions to make it simple. We are a very busy office, I am the ONLY staff member here outside of the doctor. I need things to work the first time and to be simple. It was not simple.

    2) I FINALLY got instruction, since it seems we can’t just ask our account manager to order a phone for us (what is the point of that?!) but it was only half the instructions I needed. After searching and clicking on every option I could think of, I finally figured it out on my own. I was able to select the correct phone and get through steps 1-3. Then I hit another brick wall. I Tried my account manager again via phone and email, no answer so I get on with chat support to assist me with getting past step 4 only to be told we have to purchase a 3rd line if we want a desk phone…..WHAT?! My account manager finally called back and confirmed that we need to purchase another line…. WHY?! this makes no sense.

    3) Here is the problem and why it makes no sense to me or the doctor. When we initially signed up, our extremely incompetent and rude, account manager tried to sell us a $500+ desk phone to use with the services. We are a small operation, needless to say, we found a phone from an outside source for much cheaper. Turns out that phone is not compatible with your services. I was on the line with your tech support for a very long time trying to figure this out (also with the place we got the phone from) That is when we decided to return the phone and to just keep using the app for a while….

    4) So now fast forward a few months later, and now magically our account is no longer compatible for a desk phone?! Tell me how that makes sense? Why would you all try to sell us a VERY expensive phone if it was not going to work? Why did your tech support try to help set up our outside phone that we purchased if our service was not set up for it?!

If we hadn’t paid for the year and if this all hadn’t already been such a huge headache, we would definitely be cancelling your services. I have been holding off on reviewing your services online, as I was hoping for some redemption for your services and customer service, but I am about out of hope for Ring Central. We have already looked at a few other services and are thinking when our contract is up with you we will be going over to Ooma. I just can not tell you how terrible this whole experience has been so difficult, so time consuming, HUGE lack of communication. I can’t wait to be done.

    RING CENTRALS REPLY:
    Hi Elayna,

Good day and I hope you’re well.

As discussed through chat and by your Account Manager, we cannot assign the Main Company Number to your deskphone. Only Digital Lines can be assigned to a deskphone.

I will be leaving this case open on the next 24 hours so that if you want to follow up, you can contact us regarding the issue. Your case number is 09829014.

If we don’t receive a contact from you, we will close this ticket under good intent.

Thanks for choosing RingCentral. Happy thanksgiving.

Signed up for a trial account to see about moving 121 user accounts over to them from another provider and went to cancel the service (had planned on signing our accounts back up) and was told I have to speak with retention dept. So 30 minutes later I hadnt reached anyone. I hung up and called back in and requested the sales rep just cancel it for me as I dont have the `1 hour wait time to sit and wait for someone to decide to answer their phones. So once she was rude and asked “do you understand what process means” etc, she hung up on me after requesting a supervisor. Guess who just lost 121 accounts? These loonies!

Just be sure you read the fine print several times. This is been the worst contract I’ve gotten myself into. If you are a small business, use Twilio, and a script to manage your systems; It’s much more affordable and even more efficient and you won’t get your number spammed. I would rate 0 if I could. Harassing calls and emails about “how was our support”. From day one registering my number, I started receiving 4+ texts daily about loans and other bulls*t offers. The app doesn’t allow you to block numbers. Don’t even get me started on all the other issues.

I have used RingCentral for many years. It has always been marginal and the service beyond horrendous.

Recently, however, they have rolled out system changes and the system and sound quality has become completely unusable. As in, really not usable. Calls drop when trying to answer on phone. I can only get it to work on my base WiFi. Nowhere else.

On the desktop phone, it went suddenly from people being able to hear me to people can not hear me or only so faintly that they can not make out anything. The latency is horrible. The only thing that has changes is their system. It is truly completely useless.

Don’t get me started on the inability to have a blocking service for robo/scam calls.

I have stayed with them all this time because it is a pain to migrate, and no service is perfect. This is the straw. My business can not operate without a working phone system. I need to be able to answer my phone and have people hear me. This is basic. Do not believe whatever they tell you. They have never ever been truthful. And be warned, the service people are franticly searching your problem in their manual when you contact them. If they can’t search it and read it to you, whatever your problem is will remained unsolved.

Run far away from this company.

COST: I signed on with RingCentral in August of 2017 with a 2-year contract for 8 lines for $220 which was a little higher than the local VOIP company we were using, but we felt it was worth it with all of the amazing features and capabilities. As you can imagine, I was QUITE SURPRISED when I received my first (and subsequent) bill(s) totaling $340! In other words, I agreed to $220 plus taxes and fees for 8 lines but BE ADVISED that taxes and fees will be at least 50% more than the agreed upon price which is WAY MORE than any other “taxes and fees” I have EVER experienced. BUYER BEWARE especially if you are trying to stay within a particular budget!!!!!!!

EXPERIENCE with setup: The easy setup promised (at least for building a multi-level IVR) is not the case. I attempted to set up my own because supposedly doing so is very simple if you watch all of the videos and read the articles on RingCentral University. If you have a background in computer science or coding, perhaps you might be able to pull it off. I am very tech savvy and could not figure it out. You will spend HOURS (in my case at least 6 hours total) on the phone trying to set up and make sure everything goes to the right place especially since the support you get is across the globe and although they speak English, communication does not always go great. All I can say is that when you are setting up, be sure to have a cell phone handy to make test calls and test every single option because there will be something wrong and the new person you get will have a different idea on mapping and cause you to spend a LOT more time trying to figure it out.

EXPERIENCE using the service: IF you are running a MEDICAL PRACTICE or any organization where you NEED the caller to get ahold of someone due to life-threatening circumstances or if you work in an industry with HIGH LITIGATION, I do NOT recommend you go with RingCentral. Here’s why: Throughout our time with RingCentral there were SEVERAL times where the phone calls didn’t go where they were supposed to. When I would call to see what was happening, they always claimed we did the changes. I explained that NO ONE on staff besides myself even know how to get to the IVR to make changes and why would I go into the IVR and change anything! Here are some examples of the big problems we experienced (IN ORDER OF SEVERITY):

EXAMPLE 1: We went a period of about 3 MONTHS where patients would tell us they had left messages (and we had ZERO messages from them!!). It happened frequently enough that we knew they were not lying but those messages were nowhere to be found. On one occasion, when we had a glitch and calls were not being routed appropriately, so we called in to see where the problem was. The ring central staff member said we must have changed something (of course we did not touch anything). Anyway, in doing so the RC staff showed me where the problem was and I saw there was a weird extension. I ended up creating a log in for that extension and what do you know….we had 43 voicemails sitting in there!!!! SOME OF THEM URGENT CALLS FROM PATIENTS from weeks ago!!!!

EXAMPLE 2: There was one time were ALL calls came directly to my CELL PHONE (I was on vacation). The strange thing is that I had NEVER input my cell phone number ANYWHERE in the RingCentral system….the only conclusion I can come to is that it picked it up when I called it for help at some point.

EXAMPLE 3: Another time we had patients attempting to reach the medical staff team. Instead of ringing to their group and then transferring to the front reception to be answered, patients heard a recording that said, “No one is available to take your call. Goodbye” prior to being hung up on. In a nutshell, RINGCENTRAL IS VERY BUGGY AND WILL MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR SYSTEM ON ITS OWN and then they will make you feel like you are crazy when you call in to ask where the problem is because no one will acknowledge that the changes happened on their end. As you can imagine, we were CONSTANTLY APOLOGIZING TO PATIENTS and of course they lost all confidence in our phone system.

REGARDLESS WE STUCK IT OUT BECAUSE WE HAD SIGNED A 2-YEAR AGREEMENT.

Experience trying to leave RingCentral for a better service (i.e., problems with glitches and huge taxes and fees): I knew we were close the 2-year mark, but never received a notice when the auto-renewal would renew. All autorenewals I have ever done send notice anywhere from 30-90 days prior to the auto-renewal going into effect. This was not the case with RingCentral. I NEVER received notice whatsoever (not in writing nor even in e-mail) which is VERY UNDERHANDED. I thought it was odd, so I contacted them to see what was going on and the person I spoke with said our 2-year agreement had been fulfilled. That was my green light to move forward with another VOIP solution for our needs. I found another company specifically designed to work with medical offices (offering two-way encrypted HIPAA-compliant messaging). I signed up with them and arranged to have my phone number ported. The new company attempted to port my number 3 times unsuccessfully. Each time they were told there was a pending order and thus the number could not be ported. Prior to the 3rd attempt, I called RC to see what the pending order was and they said there was no pending order and there was no record of an attempt to port the number. After the 3rd attempt with the same results, the new company was able to finally port the number by calling in and reminding them of the legal obligation to release the number. This entire process of back-and-forth took close to 2 months (SO BE ADVISED IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT LEAVING RINGCENTRAL AND WANT TO KEEP YOUR PHONE NUMBER).

Once we were finally set up and ready to go with the new company, I attempted to log into RingCentral to erase any messages/faxes prior to canceling service. I was unable to log in so I called in. The problem had been that my log-in user was my ported number, so the RC representative helped me get logged in. I attempted to cancel the account, but there is no way to cancel the account on-line (as required by California law in Bus. & Prof. Code § 17600). Instead I was given a toll-free number to call. I called the toll-free number 3 times, each time the message let me know there was a high call volume and that my call would be answered in the order received. After waiting for approximately 10 minutes each time, the call went to a recording prompting me to leave a message after the beep. I left a message knowing I would not be called back (which I have not yet been called back in response to the message). At this point, I was so frustrated I filed a BBB complaint which got me a callback fairly promptly. The representative (I was assigned case 10084542) informed me could not cancel without paying out the full amount of the auto-renewed 2-year contract in the amount of $3,806.64 plus. At this point I was in shock. I told the representative, that I never received the notice about when the autorenewal was going into effect (as is customary with every other company) and I had spoken to a representative prior to porting my number who had said we had finished our 2-year agreement. I also informed her that according to my state’s law, written notification had to be given at least 30 days prior to an auto-renewal going into effect. The representative said she would get back to me about my concerns. She called me back to let me know that RingCentral is under no obligation to send out an auto-renewal notice according to the state of California (not my state) and that her final offer would be to reduce the early termination amount to $2,283.98. At this point I am seeking legal counsel since I would rather pay thousands of dollars to a lawyer than give any more business to RingCentral!!! So PLEASE, BUYER BEWARE!!! Please do your due diligence in ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE IN HEALTHCARE before signing up with RingCentral!! IF YOU ARE ALREADY WITH RINGCENTRAL and unhappy, PLEASE READ my experience so you can save yourself the pain I have had to go through.

THINK ABOUT IT, IF A COMPANY HAS TO SNEAK THINGS INTO A CONTRACT SUCH AS AUTO-RENEWAL TO BE ABLE TO KEEP YOU AS A CUSTOMER, THERE IS A REASON. Otherwise, customers wouldn’t even think to leave…something to think about!
    Would Recommend: No

The good: LOTS of features; tech support is friendly and reasonably competent (you may be calling them a lot); porting numbers out of RingCentral was no problem.

The bad: RingCentral has had a problem with 2 factor authentication across several of their products for several months. Their service offerings have come from acquisitions that haven’t been seamlessly integrated resulting in a fragmented user interface. The core interface for managing your phone systems is very unintuitive and requires visiting tutorial videos for even the most basic tasks; sometimes even their own tech support reps don’t get it right.

Overall: If your business is small and/or just needs basic call capabilities, RingCentral is overkill and will be more trouble than it’s worth. If you are a large company and have the resources to dedicate a person to manage configuration and ongoing maintenance of phones, RingCentral is probably a good choice. If you’re an SMB, it’ll be a tougher call to make. It’s hard to beat the breadth of features RingCentral provides, but actually using them is extremely frustrating. Years ago, RingCentral rolled out a very poorly designed web interface and the bad UI decisions made in that product continue to plague their product today (in addition to other feature acquisitions which are entirely separate interfaces).

If RingCentral can ever centralize service management into an interface that is friendly to the end user, they’ll return to the top spot. For the last several years and forseeable future, however, their platform is just too complex to be used effectively.

Absolutely terrible company. They allow their sales people to lie to you about the capabilities of their system and when they can’t deliver what they said they could they browbeat you with the contract they tricked you into signing. If you have ANY SENSE AT ALL find another company to use for your phone service. Their system is shoddy, glitchy, overpriced and most importantly, may or may not be able to work for your business use, YOU CANNOT TRUST WHAT THEY TELL YOU. THEY WILL LIE TO YOU TO GET YOU TO SIGN UP. DON’T DO IT. You can do better.

This is an absolute crap product. Abysmal. Texting sometimes completely goes out. It just gives you an error that something is wrong(but does not say what) and it takes away the option to send a text. The only fix(in the chrome app add on) is to remove and reinstall the app to chrome.

Typing text messages to someone not all letters/words will type. Sometimes it omits several letters that have been typed or entire words or part of words which makes text messages unreadable and unprofessional. Sometimes the cursor jumps around in the text box so when typing so if I am adding text to a part of a message the cursor will jump to the end of the message, again making things unreadable and not professional.

The app on the phone, the website and the chrome add on do not sync contacts. So if I add a contact on the chrome app it will not automatically sync that contact to my phone. So you are constantly looking up phone numbers to figure out who you are texting/getting messages from.

Picture do NOT show up via the chrome app. It just shows as getting a blank message. You have to go to the website version of ring central to check the picture message. However the website is VERY cumbersome to use and is NOT user friendly.

Message forwarding does not work at all even though the function of it is on their website.

Their tech support is little to no help and many of the issues stated above have been ongoing for over a year(just google the problems for confirmation from other users). So it seems like they have little interest in making an actual quality working product.

It seems that they just lock people into contracts with the facade of a polished product with all these functions and then you get a twisted, sub-par version of what is promised.

Avoid this product and company at ALL costs.

P.S. In my own research it looks like this may have been a good company till 2016 but for some reason went downhill HARD. Not sure why but again, don’t waste your time and money on this product and business.

First when I looked at the pricing guide for RingCentral it said one price – when I went through the free trial to sign up another price came up. Since it was a free trial, I figured no big deal. I went ahead and signed up (and there wasn’t a way to see what they were charging you for).

The main feature I needed immediately was a fax number – which they made it seem like was part of the pre-existing package. Once I realized that:
    1) the system wasn’t all that easy to use and was confusing;
    2) the fax number and system wasn’t part of the process;
    3) the way they set up the sign up process felt heavy handed and it always felt like the next step was trying to lock you into something, I decided to cancel.

I found a better phone company about 8 months ago.. Now I am receiving a collections bill for over $10,000 from Ringcentral. In short, RingCentral representatives stated my requests for non-renewal were made too early to stop the auto renewal, and that I was required to make the request within 30 days of contract end date, so they auto renewed against my wishes. However my contract states my request for non-renewal MUST be made MORE than 30 days prior to contract end date, which is what I did.

I have reviewed the recorded calls I have with Ringcentral, and it gets my blood boiling again! Wow I hate this company.

The recordings are of front line reps making false claims, and supervisors then quoting me requirements of my contract that absolutely contradict the actual written contract I have in my possession.

RingCentral has these contracts and these recordings in their possesion. I am enraged that they continue to pursue this.

I suspect they continue to make these same false claims to current customers. A quick internet search produces a lot of victims of their shady business practices, and lots of victims of their illegally processed “auto renewals”.

They are ripe for a class action lawsuit.
    Pros: None.
Cons: Impossible to stop auto renewal contracts.

I had an initial 2 year contract that ran through March 2018. My business was already in trouble and I closed operations 10/28. I called to cancel services and was told that they automatically renew for an additional 2years unless you cancel 30 days ahead of your initial contract end date. Its in small print in the contract.

So I have no income and no way to cancel. The customer service people were horrible and said that theit collections agency will be coming after me for the full contract amount of another 18months.

RingCentral is the absolute worse “business phone service.” Avoid this company like the plague! It has taken me almost 4 years to get RingCentral cancelled for my Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business. They have a fraudulent contract process. They fraudulently signed my name on a 2-year contract and then automatically extended the contract to a 4-year contract. I asked for proof of this contract and RingCentral sent me an electronically forged copy with my name in a manner that I NEVER sign my name. It wasn’t until I filed a fraud complaint with my American Express Business Card that any action was taken. RingCentral Fraud department was forced to give me a fraud case number. Buyer beware! RingCentral puts you through call “loops” that lead to nowhere or to RingCentral employees who cannot cancel your service or try to charge exorbitant fees to cancel a contract that you do not sign!
    Pros: Excellent support. Best value.
Cons: Useless customer service, confusing setup, not user friendly.

Have been using the service for over a year, without any major issues. Then our faxes stopped coming and going. I have a medical practice and it is very important we can send and receive faxes. The response I got from several people in their tech support was that it was issues with the fax numbers we were sending through, it was not on their end. So, dozens of faxes we fax to regularly all started having issues at the same time? That’s more plausible to them than there being an issue with their service?! I switched to another fax service and all our faxes are going through just fine.

Have been a RingCentral customer since 2016. Was not overly impressed with the user interface and sound quality from the start. Was forced to sign a two year contract when I signed on. I made the decision with in the first year that I would leave Ring Central once my contract lapsed. So recently I found the time to sign up with Ooma, I signed up and had my number ported then notified RingCentral I was ending their service.

This is when I found out that they automatically renewed my contract for 2 more years. Reading over the contract, they were correct it was in the contract.

Needless to say I was very upset! NO COMPANY WHO HAS THE CUSTOMERS BEST INTEREST IN MIND OPERATES THIS WAY! It didn’t matter to them that I was a trouble free client for two years. Automatic renewal locked me into a price higher than any new subscribers would receive. When I spoke with their customer service the response was “you signed a contract”. They were right. Shame on me. So now I will be posting where I can to help keep other small business owners from making the same mistake. I am currently paying the remainder of my contract and using Ooma.

We have been with RingCentral twice. Stupidly we went back to them almost two years ago. The sales person assured us the issues we experienced in the past were solved. Well they weren’t and after spending hours trying to resolve the issues, no improvement. Essentially every call comes in on two lines and if someone is alone and is on the phone when a second call comes in, the person has to go to a different phone to answer the second incoming call, they can’t put the first call on hold, and answer the second call on the phone they are using. If someone is working remotely, they do not have any idea that a second call is coming in and can’t answer it even if they wanted to!! So we have 3 months left in our contract. I admit to being stupid and not doing a month to month agreement. Shame on me. We asked, politely to be released from our contract a few months early since they could not deliver the services as promised. We have found a service who can set the system up the way we require and, for the health of our business, wanted to switch to the new company. Nope they would have none of it. After almost an hour on the phone, speaking to 3 different rep, the final being “Vince”, all of whom would not listen to anything I was saying. There was absolutely no consideration of the fact that we had worked on trying to fix this numerous times to no avail. There was no consideration that I was a dissatisfied customer. All they could do was repeat that I had a contract and had to pay the three months remaining if I wanted to terminate the service. It was my problem not theirs. I was told I should have terminated the service within 30 days of signing up if I wanted no penalties. We were still working on trying to get it to work the making the system work!! Their script-based responses are insulting. They had many, many ways of saying no, we don’t care that we couldn’t provide you the service you are paying for, we want your money and that is all we want. Their approach was condescending and inconsiderate. Live and learn!
Pros: None over any other company.
Cons: Customer Service, lack of flexibility.

It took 1.5 hours to speak to a Manager. When I called I had to speak to 4 individuals before I was able to talk to someone that could help me. Even then I could not leave a message for the supervisor myself because I was told he did not have a voicemail. I called a phone company that has Managers, and Supervisors that do not have voice mail. This is ironic to say the least. They will tell you what you want to hear to get your business, once they get your business they will act as if you don’t matter. Once you are signed up you will receive daily spam calls, spam faxes, and spam email.

Horrible customer service and bad business practices. I transferred to a new service and I thought that would mean my account would close. They assigned a new number to my account and kept taking money out of my account. When I called they said I was under a contract that my ex business partner, who hasn’t been around for 3 years, signed 4 years ago. The only way to cancel was to send them more money to buy out the contract. Not the best way to run a business. Maybe they need the money more than me, who knows.

Each time they come with a new excuse as to why, even though we are asking each time if there is anything else that needs to be done, and of course we are told each time”no that will fix it, just get that done and send it back over”.

Yes, I know that we are in contract and yes we discussed the cancellation fee, which we have agreed to pay. That is not the issue.

The Tech support system is terrible. In my latest bout, I would call the tech support number, input endless information , wait on hold for long periods. Then in 6 separate instances over a period of 3 days, I would promptly be disconnected after going through a description of the problem. As frustrating as that is, even worse is the fact the NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK after the disconnect !! Even in some cases, after the person asked me for my call back number in the event we got cut off!! Unreal but true. My issues are still unresolved, hence why I am in the process of switching to a new company.

I wish the recordings were available for longer. Most of the time, we only need access to calls within the month, but once in a blue moon, I wish I could listen to a call from a year ago. Rarely, a random call will just not be recorded for no apparent reason. Lastly, once in a while, my phone will seem like it’s loading and not ringing, and I will randomly get through to a person’s voicemail, or they will answer, and I won’t be prepared for it.

These things are not deal-breakers, and we find ways to adjust, but it can be unpleasant.

    What do you like best?
I like using a Bluetooth earpiece to answer the phone while doing my work, which is even better than having a set of Bluetooth earphones. Hands-free gives one the ability to multitask in an utterly productive manner. I can sift through digital files, check email, or update a document while answering a question or inquiry, all while discussing file details or scheduling a meeting. I enjoy the fact that I no longer have to balance a phone receiver between my shoulder and my ear or risk the posibility of literally dropping the call. Being able to utilize the handsfree and removing the need for a physical phone on the desk providing for more free space or file space. The ability to use the video interface shows up and would be a good tool to have access to since we do not use Microsoft teams but we have not utilized it at this point.

    What do you dislike?
There are only two choices of ring tones, a traditional ringer that often startles me or the quieter ringtone that often goes unheard if I am not looking at the right (as opposed to the left) monitor. There should be more than one choice of ringtone. I am also intimated by the hold and release feature when taking multiple calls. The screen/options are not very intuitive or even user-friendly. I am also not a fan of the old fashioned ring because it is slightly unnerving when you are busy working with peace and quiet and then the jarring ring. One thing that could be improved would be keeping the multiple calls seperate such as call one and call two rather than the vague and difficult to differentiate phone graphic. Not sure what the message category is that is seperate from the text message category. It seems to create a whole other message that is often overlooked because it is not a text message or a missed call phone message. A longer time to answer the calls as in more rings would be advantageous.

Set up my free trial. Decided ring central wasn’t a good fit. Tried cancelling the trial on the online chat since they were closed. Told me to call the 800 number. When I called them to cancel they told me I had to wait 63 minutes to speak with someone in the loyalty department to cancel my trial. After waiting 20 minutes the call was disconnected. Total scam!! Every time I call there’s always a wait and no one can help cancel my trial.

I did not use the service extensively. My business timetable got moved and I called to see if I could suspend my account for 6 months. I was told that I am under contract and have to keep paying although I did not use the service for the business. So I paid for 12 months for something that I did not use. Guess who I am NOT going to pick when I launch my business?

After reading horror stories of trying to cancel accounts, I too found myself in this nightmare. Attempted to port to Vonage on 9/25/17 after completing the paperwork THIER reps told me, it was rejected, called again, told something different. Corrected, submitted, rejected AGAIN. Had Ring Central rep in a 3 way conversation with myself and Vonage rep, Ring Central rep told Vonage rep exactly what was needed on the request. Oh guess what? Rejected AGAIN. Ring Central is a circus that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. NEVER use Ring Central. Run as fast a you can from them.

The online back office looks great and so does the actual SoftPhone, however we have enormous problems when it comes to reliability and subsequent support.

I’ve sent away numerous support tickets and no-one has bothered to respond. Some of which are actually hindering our ability to take calls until they generate the mental capacity to sort those tickets out.

RingCentral is costing our business much more than their monthly fee. If you want a phone system that is reliable, these clowns are the last people you want to consider.
Pros: Easy to use, until it breaks.
    Cons: Utterly appalling customer service.

For the price, be aware you are getting foreign customer service. I am in the US and consistently frustrated with their Customer Service Dept that doesn’t understand fully our language or culture of doing business. Even when I think we are having a breakthrough, I find out that they did not do as I wished. The price is what I need for my budget right now but as soon as I can, I will change to a provider that has US customer service reps.

    Examples of issues:
The logins are more complicated than I like and they have 2 different sets of logins, a typical alpha-numeric login but also a numeric login – you have to remember each one for each extension.

If I tell them we are closed today, they are on a different day of the week so they submit the wrong day that we are closed.

They have no way to make a single day closed in observance of a holiday. You have to manually (if you can remember which login you need for that and the password) change your hours on Thursdays (all Thursdays) to be closed. But then, of course, you have to manually go back after that Thursday and mark it as open. This was a call that I had in – they were confused on the day as they don’t have Thanksgiving, don’t know what day and they were already on Friday. Then they didn’t change it back for me so I still was showing closed every Thursday.

Just beware that there are issues with a cheaper provider.
    Pros: Affordable.
Cons: Foreign Cust Service, don’t understand.

I was happy with the service (Fax) while I was using it. To cancel you have to call in and answer several questions and then wait a few minutes. The other bad part about this is that the day you call in to cancel is the day the service stops, even if you have paid for the entire month (period). Unacceptable, I have already paid for the service, it should cancel at the end of the period I have paid for. The option left to me is to call back on the day the period ends. Frustrating…
    Pros: Easy to setup.
Cons: Cancellation requires a phone call.

After using RingCentral for a couple of years I sold my business. I still had some months left on my contract. I wanted to pay it off and close the account. First they try to talk you into staying, but once you convince them you really do want to close, then you wait for 20 minutes for the accounting department who will send your payoff statement some hours later. You cannot use the same payment method they billed every month, you have to either set up an ACH transfer or mail a check. It took 4 phone calls and nearly 2 hours on the phone just to close my account. Ridiculous.

I’m finally closing out my year-long nightmare with RingCentral. To cap it off, I’m currently sitting on hold with their porting department for the sixth time in a week because they’re not releasing my main business line and my clients have been hearing a busy signal for the last two days.

It all started when their sales team tried to lock me into a three-year contract without telling me, and charge me for the whole boat in advance. Things did not improve from there. Reliability was spotty, at best. Their configuration systems are not intuitive in the least. Customer and tech support have been, with rare exception, the most incompetent I have ever seen, next to Office Depot. Every time I had to resort to calling support, I could count on at least half my day being wasted. Not exaggerating–literal hours of my life gone every time I had to call these people. Rarely was my problem solved in one call.

I wanted a turn-key solution so I could have a mobile office and didn’t have to mess with complicated VOIP stuff. But now that I was forced to look into a more “advanced” solution like Voipo or Voip.ms (I won’t say which, to avoid a shadow of bias) I’m kicking myself for not starting out with it. It took way less time to achieve the same setup with my new provider, and I didn’t have to spend a single second on hold with service reps who knew even less about VOIP technology than me.

And the best part? I’m now paying less than 1/10 of what RingCentral charged me for the same functionality.

Spend an afternoon learning about how VOIP works and bypass RingCentral. You will have recouped the investment in avoiding their support lines within a day or two, guaranteed. Avoid this company like the plague.
Pros: Decent features, when they work.
    Cons: Abysmal service.

We have been with RingCentral for about two and a half years. We never had too many problems. Sometimes yes we did have poor reception and sometimes calls were dropped. But couldn’t blame it entirely on RingCentral since sometimes it has to do internet service.

In October of 2017 our Auto renewal of two years on our contract did renew. This is where things started getting very interesting for our company. In December RingCentral sent us an email saying that we have changed the way we’re pricing things so if you have a couple cell phones that also ring along with your office phone then we are going to charging you as if that’s another phone line. So with this one email notice our rates doubled with RingCentral.

Sure enough our February and March Bill doubled. We made a phone call to RingCentral and we were told no you’re into your contracts and it’s up in October of 2019 you can do about it.

So here is what we have done. We have since poured it all of our phone numbers away from RingCentral. We are still being billed even though we don’t use their service anymore. We as a honest company will pay through the contract.

After countless phone calls to them trying to get out of the contract it is now fruitless. Here is some points that you may want to consider if you’re thinking about leaving RingCentral or even worse deciding to sign up with RingCentral.
    1. Never believe what’s your sales person says to you on the phone. You must read the contract. They will lie to you.

    2. Call customer service once you are in RingCentral is a real treat! I have no idea what country these people are from but they will have a very difficult time understanding you or you understanding them. As it turns out they’re only able to read script they are not able to make any decisions.

    3. Your assigned service associate will also mislead you and lie to you. If you make a request that you do not want to be on auto cancel anymore. They will tell you yes will you put noted that on your account. As it turns out that was not true either. In October of 2019 I’m again going to have to call RingCentral to cancel my account. By the way it’s the only way you can cancel your account is by phoning these people. They will give you the runaround and try to convince you to stay.

    4. Make sure your lawyer reads the contract do not believe a word those people say to you.

    5. RingCentral it turns out is not an ethical or Honest Company!!

If you read this we hope it helps you make a decision whether you want to do business with a company like this or not. We made our mistake and we’re going to live with it. Regrettably, companies that do business this way make you also not trust many other companies that are honest and legitimate. RingCentral is at the bottom of the barrel.

    BUYER BEWARE!!!
    Pros: Fairly easy setup.
    Cons: Unethical business practices.

Was with this company for 4 years, in the last few months they started charging for forwarding calls to mobile devices. $45/ phone a month! Mobile forwarding is part of our call handling and we had been doing it for years. They sent us email notifications but who really reads email notices of service changes. Our bill doubled. I called and asked about it and if there was anything I could do to change it and not be charged and my account manager Rosemarie was completely rude to me and basically said no, too bad. I told her I was going to cancel my account and she literally said go ahead. So I find a new provider, port over my number and call RingCentral to cancel my account. They say that I cannot because I am still within my contract. I say. not possible we signed a 2 year contract 4 years ago, please send me a copy of the contract. Turns out, Ring Central contracts renew on a yearly basis and if you cancel before the year is up you have to pay your full payments through the end of the year. You can also not downgrade your plan anytime but a 30day window of when the year is up. After I have ported over my number and have called to cancel, suddenly now I am getting emails that they will no longer charge me for mobile users. I am so frustrated with this company. So happy that I am leaving even though I am paying for 3 months of service that I am not using to get away from this company. I am just happy to not have to work with them or their rude team.

Terrible customer service. 3 months without phones. I sent countless emails and not even a call back. When we did get a call back, it was apparently our fault. After three months, they realized they did not have a connection to two of our phones. They then realized it was a server issue on their end. I had angry clients and most of all, I paid an entire year upfront. I have never written a review before, because I am a business owner. But when a business costs me thousands of dollars because they do not want to call me back, then I will happily write a review to save other customers from the disaster I experienced.

The only thing my team has liked about this service is their Glip app… but that is not worth $595/year. I have spent OVER 2 HOURS on the phone with customer support and WE STILL DIDN’T SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

I am not technologically advanced in the VOIP area whatsoever… but while trying to get help from customer service, I would be suggesting my OWN solutions because they were NOT SURE WHAT TO DO and the agent would was literally just saying yes to everything I suggested lol (if they even understood what I was saying).

All our users but one were limited to only 10 external outgoing calls per month… If we went over this it was an additional cost of $50/month. AND NOBODY TOLD US THIS. So during setup and the 5+ times I called customer service this was not communicated. Then we receive a phone call letting us know we were way over and had all these overage charges…. wahoo…

We still have 7 months left in our contract and we don’t even use the service. Setup is still not completed as we would like – we are actually considering hiring someone to complete the setup because their technical support is so incompetent, unhelpful, and rude… this service has cost our company much much more than it is worth.
Wouldn’t even value ring central at $1. AVOID THIS COMPANY. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. ANYWHERE ELSE. 🙂

Made the process of managing your own phone system reasonably simple. Transferring calls and conferencing in other callers is straightforward. The fax system was great, very easy to track history and what successfully transmitted. It was similarly useful being able to listen to voicemails online and getting a notification via email to include in your to-do email list. I don’t have experience with other VoIP systems so maybe these things are standard but I feel this system offers everything I could expect from software of this nature.
Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

    What do you dislike?
Based on feedback from our administrator, the support seemed limited and it was difficult to change the structure of the system once it was initially set up, i.e. giving past employees’ phones to new employees and reassigning the extensions, as well as reassigning extensions in general. Also, this may be no fault of the system but some faxes would fail occasionally, likely due to the receiver’s set up rather than RingCentral.

I feel like the video quality is grainier than it should be for 2021, though this might be more of an issue with the webcam. Calls lag somewhat frequently, which again could be for reasons outside of RingCentral’s control. For instance, every couple of minutes my video feed goes dark for a second.

I hate that you can’t preview your video before joining a call with it. I even though I changed the setting to enable a preview, but that obviously wasn’t what that setting was for. Considering other video conferencing platforms allow for previewing, I don’t see any reason to choose RingCentral over them.

RingCentral has great features. There are apps for iPhone and Mac in addition to the web-based module. It provides a great way for everyone to have individualized office numbers without using their personal cell phone numbers. There is also a great meetings app that allows our team to meet via the Internet weekly. The quality of the video chat is great! Our team is a web-based team with 7 members in 4 different cities with no home office. We also work with a network of international partners who have access as well. It makes it easy to meet in real time with a web-based team.

RingCentral is one of the only services that I have used that offer SMS Text, outbound/inbound phone calls, as well as E-Fax. Additionally, they are always available if you ever need assistance from their customer service team. We are using RingCentral as our base phone system, they have mobile apps, softphones on the computer and physical phones if needed. We use them for E-fax as well and if needed you can use their feature for internal team use. RingCentral has all the features you would expect from a phone provider compared to most other services.

RingCentral Supports an IVR (Automated system) that you can setup for your callers to choose different extensions etc. You an access your voice mails easily. As the administrator, I love how easy it is to add new users and to be able to call them from the office by simply entering their extension from the office phone. RingCentral give my business a more professional presentation to our clients. When they call us, we appear to be a much larger company than we actually are. RingCentral replaced our landline, which was big for us. We are still in the process of incorporating it to employees. Currently, we’ve got Slack and Zoom, and RingCentral will end up replacing it. It has been helpful now since we’ve been working remotely. It has provided staff with the ability to hide their personal cell phone numbers, which is great and it also provided them that security or protection. It assured us that the phones are getting answered because we didn’t have somebody always answering them. The team at RingCentral are responsive and talk so calmly and thoroughly that sometimes I can be in a rush and I just want the answer. They haven’t always been able to provide us with answers but for the most part, it’s been helpful and they’re always super friendly. Every now and then, there’s a glitch but they have been able to resolve that well. They could have a little bit more consistent support availability and the results though.

We have been customers with RingCentral for over 9 years and your customer service over the last several years has been atrocious, way before COVID even hit the shores! No response to repeated emails we’ve sent, and we were looking to open another account for another business of ours. Absolutely unacceptable! Kindly have someone reach out to us or we can find another company that will offer much better customer service. Thanks!

I liked the service, but I couldn’t take the sales rep. I didn’t think I could get away from him because he was my sales rep. I was like, “I wanna talk to someone else.” “No, you can’t.” “Okay. Then I’m done. I’m quitting.” And I ported every phone number out. That was a lot of work just to make a point. They told me it was a concern. Unfortunately, the other company couldn’t do what RingCentral did. So, I called RingCentral back, got a different salesperson. He’s very communicative. I love it now. They have changed their ways since then.

I recommend them all the time to everybody. I have a university and a lawyer’s office that picked them up. But the tracking system would say, “We’ll give you a free month or something.” But I’ve never been able to work the recommendation list for me to get anything out of it. No word of some sort. It has never worked. Other than that, we went from spending $1,500 a month in phones to 300-ish. I have sales and customer support reps all over the country. And I support three different businesses with the phone system.

This is how easy it is to work with them. I called them, left Bello a message, said, “Hey, Bello. I’m thinking about doing this. I need to do this. Call me back when you can.” He called me back the next day. And I brainstormed through the whole system with him. I bought a new line, and I already had a phone. He’s a sales rep, so he couldn’t set it up. But we did everything we could to set it up. And then he transferred me over to the customer support. I was up and running that day with the phone configured to match. One of my sales reps would take some time off, so I needed a copy of that phone where I was, just in case. It was done within minutes.

RingCentral does a lot. It does most of the things I wanted to do. However, I do not think that they did a very good job of tying it in logically. The way they have some things positioned in the software, I find extremely hard to digest as a new client. The other thing is before, when I had RingCentral, somehow it allowed me to download all of my contacts. I can’t figure out how to get my contacts now.

The third thing is that it should have a real quick speed dial in it that I haven’t been able to discover. The other thing that I noticed about RingCentral is lots of times, in the videos, it always has an error. When I go to delete things, it always gives you that secondary window. “Do you really want to delete it?” I get that. But there should be an option there someplace, because that thing gets old when I’m trying to delete six people.

Although it sounds terrible, I’m really not that dissatisfied with RingCentral. RingCentral has a tremendous capacity to work with my company. But I don’t think they did a good enough job of training us. They introduced new software. So people think there is a certain population that will go and read those apps or watch those videos. But there’s a larger section of the people that are too busy to do that.

I just said to Heather, who runs the deal for me, “Get somebody to do a training class and we’ll get everybody on here.” But then they came back and said, “We don’t do that. We only have videos.” Now I have to rely on eight people on the staff to go out, take their time, go to the videos, learn this. I believe that if someone really trained us how to interact with each other, how the transfers go, we would be in a better situation. The other thing is once you re-up into this new software, it’s still a mess. It’s never really cleaned out all of the other things that I have from RingCentral. Now, I have four RingCentrals popping up on my bar. I don’t know what to do with what.

There are parts that are very frustrating. Like when I’m trying to buy a phone right now, nobody knows anything about the phones. “These run good with RingCentral,” but that’s about all they know. I’m trying to pick out from 25 phones which ones have what I’m looking for. I have to download and read the copy on all of those things to get some basic information. And it would seem to me that they could get five people that could correspond with customers to say, “Oh, you’re looking for 20 speed dials? Oh, that phone doesn’t have it. But let me show you this, what it does.” There was nobody to help me there. And between the time I spend reading up Best Buy and Verizon, and all these other consumer companies, the last thing I want to do is do something like that. RingCentral falls short on support of the telephones for the desk, at least picking it out.

But after that, the girl that worked with me to install my new one was good. Her name was Angel. She had pretty good knowledge, but she didn’t know the ins and outs of each machine. I still believe in RingCentral, but they got some more stuff to iron out. I love that it’s an all-in-one and I really like RingCentral. I like our rep, too. He’s great.

We use RingCentral primarily for the fax applications. We have interactive voice response systems and we use it for development. I’ve done some development work to see if we can use it for our IVR platform to connect directly and we have. We have a lot of our customers that we provide services for that use RingCentral, but they buy those services directly from RingCentral and we integrate with their substation. RingCentral’ technical staff is so easy to work with. At first, when we started dealing with them, they treated us like a competitor. We are a competitor but we have a vertical market. We know the government vertical market inside and out for permitting and utility billing and courts so our customers love us. We refer RingCentral to all of our customers. We’ve got a customer going live with them in the next two weeks.

We’ve worked with a couple other companies that our customers have brought to us, but it’s nowhere as easy as RingCentral is to work with. It’s easy for us to do screen pop with RingCentral’s product because they have a zip tag that goes from birth to death, so it makes it easy to tack on new UI information in the header and have that call follow through all the information about the call or follow the call all the way through the system. However, RingCentral could have a better vendor liaison program. Right now, the vendor group is good and the resources on the web are good too, but it would be better to have somebody say, “You wanna be a partner? Here’s your contact,” and have somebody you talk to.

I’ve used RingCentral for years and years. They had some services that suited me perfectly and I used use to them a ton because at the time, I was an active real estate broker and my clients traveled extensively. I had clients who traveled to Egypt and when they would be traveling, I would allow calls to come in. I don’t normally accept calls from foreign countries or even at the time, I had to free up whatever countries they were traveling to. I said, “Fine. No problem.” For the next three weeks, I would accept calls that came into my 800 number.

One of the things that really impressed me was that I could have a true 800 number. Before I got into real estate, I worked for the phone company, where getting an 800 number was a big deal. The fact that I could offer as a contact option for my clients to call a real live toll free 800 number was a big plus. Even though I am retired and I am on RingCentral’s most limited service available, I still keep that number. I hate paying for calls. I cut the calls short and tell people, “Okay. Here’s my cell phone number. You could call me on that.” That’s fine, but I still get a couple of calls every year on my 800 number just because people get it off of my car door. Being an old real estate agent, I have a magnetic sign that has my relevant information including my 800 number, and it’s on both sides of my minivan doors.

Now, my only income is Social Security. I am a poor senior citizen, but I still love RingCentral’s 800 number. I still talk up their service. Because for people who can afford all the cool stuff they can do and people who need it, it’s wonderful. I’m loyal. I used to travel to a couple of meetings of mastermind groups for Realtors. Whenever I was asked to make a presentation, “What services can you recommend to the rest of us?” RingCentral was one of them. Their toll free 800 service. Use it. I generated a lot of business and made a lot of money on using them. I pushed through, then. Now, not so many people ask me because I’m pet sitting and I don’t have that kind of conversation with people like I did in the past. However, they are one of the companies that I gladly highly recommend ’cause they never let me down. They were worth every penny that they charged. I’m a very happy customer.

I implemented RingCentral for a client of mine. We did that on Monday. And so far, I haven’t heard anything back, which not hearing anything back is a good thing in my business. I went back on Wednesday and one of the guys from the provisioning, I worked with him and we configured a conference room phone. It was a good, easy transition, and quicker than I thought. Working with everyone from RingCentral, it was on-demand support. And everything works. Everything went better than I expected.

The integrated communication, having the cell phone, having the app, and the communication features such as the video conferencing and the chat feature makes it really easy. The only thing that I would suggest is that I was working with the user and we were making a test call because he has the app on his phone and the app on his desktop computer, then he has a dedicated phone on his desk. When he called, it only rang the phone, but not the cell phone and his cell phone. So we’re trying to figure that out, which we did.

And to get it to ring to the cell phone and his cellphone, if he was away from his desk, it would take longer than expected. You have to go into settings, then go to phone, then click the toggle to forward to the app and cell phone. That probably should be a simple toggle on the main page. Say I’m at my desk, and all of a sudden, I’m on my way out of the office and gonna go home but I still want to receive my calls, I don’t want to go through fiddling with all of that, so that I can start receiving my calls on those other devices.

After doing research, we talked with Zoom and RingCentral and felt like RingCentral would be a better fit. They had more functionality based in the system that we selected. The reps have been good to work with. If I ask questions, they get them answered quickly. We use RingCentral’s video conferencing, the phone system and that integrated messaging. It has been a good experience.

Horrible Texting ( SMS ) Service!

I’m a heavy user of the RingCentral texting app, which in general I really quite like. Only problem is, that half of the time my messages don’t make it through (despite the fact they’re showing as “sent”). I have heard from multiple customers that they didn’t receive messages they should have.

When I called customer service, they had escalated my case right away, but ultimately where unable to resolve the issue!! They kept asking me to reach out to customers and ask them about their carrier and such, which is unacceptable. Hence, without help of a paying customer they are simply incapable of fixing their faulty unreliable SMS service!
    Would Recommend: No
